We have been working with Ohio State Engineering students to plan a "Take-Apart" day for the kids! Take Apart day is a hands-on activity where using certain old machines, kids get to dismantle and learn about "the guts" of electronics. Ultimately this will help students gain insight into design and understand that engineers take things apart to make them better. We have a few items, but are looking for more!
Here's a list of things to keep an eye out for:
You may drop these items off in the morning when dropping your child off, during pick-up or if you have a lunch or break time during the school day that works better for you just let us know! We appreciate your donation!
All parents are welcome to come in on Thursday, September 29th from 2-3pm to take apart technology with us :)
Thanks for your support!
Here's a list of things to keep an eye out for:
- Some of the most fun things to take apart are 80s, 90s and early 2000s electronics, since a lot of those devices are through-hole components.
- Old Keyboards
- Computers (laptops and towers)
- Stereo Equipment
- CD and DVD players
- Tape Recorders
- VCRs
- Networking Equipment (network switches, routers, servers)
- Portable and Handhelp Electronics
- Small Electronic Items
- Things with screws and nails
