GOOD Questions to Ask - Remember Yes or No Answers
Mystery Skype is an education game, invented by teachers, played by two classrooms on Skype. The aim of the game is to guess the location of the other classroom by asking each other questions.
Once you play, you will see how Mystery Skype has totally transformed the way students learn about the world.
Mystery Skype- How to Play: -Begin with Greeters introducing themselves and saying a short welcome -Optional: “Rock-Paper-Scissors” to decide who goes first -Yes/No questions only -Alternating questions back and forth, regardless of the answer -Questions asked until state and (Optional) city/town is located -No limit on number of questions -Optional: Clues or hints can be asked for after 10 questions -Directional answers are verified before responses are given to other class- prevent mistakes that inhibit accurately attempting to locate town/city -Wall maps, state maps, atlases, computer searches and Google maps are all allowed -Once locations are found for both sides and if time allows our Closers will share some information about our schools and states/areas and ask some questions from the other class. -Some classes make this a “Win/Lose” situation. ie. The winner is the class who figures out the location of the other class first. Others never even considered playing it this way. It's always viewed as a game we play together to learn more about each other. -If time: Students can take turns asking/answering questions. Example questions: Favorite sport? Team? Food? Movie? School lunch? How many kids are in your school? What is your school mascot? What do you do for fun? Have you ever visited our state/country? And anything else your brilliant minds can come up with!
